Halloween is most popular in the United States and is gaining both commercial and cultural popularity around the world. Aside from it being part of the American 20th century pop culture it is also celebrated in England, Ireland, and Canada. Halloween originated from Ireland as a Celtic Pagan holiday to honor the dead on the first day of November, referred to as All Hollows Day. The night before, Halloween, is when pagans wore masks to scare and ward off the rising spirits of the dead from their homes. Modern day traditions honoring the holiday include costume parties, bobbing for apples, carving pumpkins and of course trick or treating. The door to door trick or treating for candy is an American addition to the celebration of Halloween. So on this day be mindful and color lots of Halloween pictures for your loved ones.
